Laurencia poitei

Plants about 10 cm tall, growing in dense clusters. The lower parts of the plants are smooth, but toward the ends, the outer branches bear small, fat branchlets that are truncated or squared at the ends, but not tuberculated. Plants pale buff to pinkish or brownish in color; consistency somewhat cartilaginous.

This species may be very common in sheltered waters and is frequently found as 'rollers' on the bottom, forming rolls, with a diameter of one meter, that moves about by wave or tidal currents.
