Candy basslet Liopropoma carmabi (Randall, 1963)
Description: Body cylindrical and elongated, boldly marked with stripes generally in shades of light brown to red-brown or yellow-brown alternating with red to maroon. Stripes may be occasionally yellow to lavender or blue. Dorsal fin with a dark spot, and two separated black spots on each tail lobe. Size up to 6 cm.
Habitat: Inhabit deep coral reefs, rarely shallower than 30 m, down to 70 m. Secretive, stay hidden in deep, dark recesses.
Distribution: Occasional Florida Keys, Bahamas and Caribbean. |
